Welcome!
Do you have a project you need to complete for one of your classes? 3D printing may just be your solution for presenting the knowledge you have learned in your class. One student was recently studying the Mayans for his 9th grade Social Studies Class. He decided to design a 3D model of a Mayan Hut, as part of his final presentation. To do this, he used the skills he had learned, during his Library/i-Media Makerspace Freshman Prep class this past summer. He used Tinker Cad software to create his 3D design, and then uploaded the design to the 3D printer, which then printed out his Mayan Hut. Please see the photos below: Why 3D printing? Read here why the International Space Station has a 3D printer on-board! This article from The Economist explains why learning 3D skills is so valuable for the future! According to the Economist, "Three-dimensional printing from digital designs will transform manufacturing and allow more people to start making things." 3D Printing creates Personalized Stem Learning opportunites for students.
